Buckram, Pigment, Incense, Screen-printing, Incense burning
This work speaks to my time with Nebraska. Both printed and incense burned images are intended to engage this State’s landscape and people. Incense burned holes are integrated into printed image and “disappeared” from front view. With light passing through the burned holes, silhouetted images, composed by dotted lights, emerge in the shadow. It encourages people to shift our perspective and appreciate what we might have overlooked.
