Adaptation, Transition, Evolution

It is a room-scale installation, which draws from a transplanted cultural artifact Yin Yu Tang- Chinese Qing Dynasty family house that was moved to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, USA. This group of work exhibits my experimentation with textiles as a means of shaping space. While lengths of fabric sculpt the space, the surface patterns, shadows and layering effects encourage viewers to experience concepts of cultural identity and cultural transformation.
